Teachers are being called on to be a facilitator more and more. Literature circles, science and math talks, inquiry, project based learning and social emotional learning all require facilitation skills. The state of Michigan Department of Education has identified core comptetencies all teachers should have, but most of them have to do with the social climate, not academics. Very few teacher education or professional development programs teach these skills and competencies in a comprehensive way.
Leave this summer institute with ways to use the academic methods you already know, along with brain-based, responsive strategies, to facilitate these experiences and create a positive social climate in your classroom. Enter the 2023-24 school year with the tools to address the needs of your students with confidence and joy.
This summer session is limited to a cohort of 20 educators.
A limited number of scholarships will be awarded. Scholarship applications will be available in January 2023.
